It was such a sheer delight to behold this wonderful and diverse gathering, so beautifully arranged across the snow covered hillside, that I laughed aloud when I saw them. I am particularly interested in the surreal in photography, and enjoy photographing objects that are not normally considered to belong to one another. This might be one of my best examples, it is certainly one of my favourites.
There is a great quote that the surrealists often used to describe their concept of beauty -
“As beautiful as the chance encounter of a sewing machine and an umbrella on an operating table.” Comte de Lautréamont
I hope that they would have approved of this.
